What is surgical orthodontics?
Surgical orthodontics, also called orthognathic treatment, combines orthodontic care with corrective jaw surgery to fix problems that come from jaw position as well as tooth alignment. It is usually recommended when the jaws are significantly out of balance and the bite cannot be corrected with braces or clear aligners alone. The goal is not only straighter teeth. It is a healthier bite, better jaw function, improved facial harmony, and a result that is more stable over time.
