Virtual Consultation for Invisalign & Braces

The digital age is truly here. You can do almost anything online nowadays. From shopping to online courses and even school work, all fall under the new age’s digital umbrella. This became even more profound during the current times. Covid-19 has restricted people’s movement, and everyone is scared for their health. As a result, they began searching online for their demands, instead of going out and unintentionally contracting the virus, endangering themselves and their families. What this period has proven is everybody’s ability to adapt. Some professions and errands that you have never thought could be done online, is now very much do-able. The most prominent example being – of course – medicine! 5 years ago, you never would have heard of a doctor – or dentist – seeing and consulting with patients online. Nowadays, online platforms for doctors are everywhere. Every doctor is trying to catch the digital wave and keep their patients safe and healthy. Dentists are another matter, since most dental procedures involve direct participation from the dentist, but in some cases – such as braces and Invisalign – a virtual consultation is more than enough. Our practice is proud to offer our patients the option of a virtual consultation for Invisalign & braces.

How exactly can I do a virtual consultation for Invisalign & Braces?

Unlike common dental procedures as fillings and root canals, braces and Invisalign don’t need to involve direct contact from the orthodontist at all times, and an online consultation may be enough. The process depends on whether you are a new patient or in need of a follow-up appointment.

For new patients:

All we need are a few photographs from different angles (we can instruct you how to take these). We also record your family history (if someone in your close family needed braces in their earlier years). We would also need a few X-Rays that you can have done locally.

Our team of experts will then look at the records (which are strictly confidential of course) and come up with the best treatment plan for your needs. A one on one online session is then booked, where Dr. Holt and the team would explain the dynamics of your treatment, step by step. They would also give you the option to choose either traditional braces or Invisalign. When you decide to begin your treatment, you are more than welcome to attend our office.

For Follow-up patients:

Most of our follow-up patients already know the drill. A few photographs from the angles we need and instruct you on, and a following online session to explain the progress. For traditional braces, a visit would be needed at least once a month. With Invisalign, however, the situation is different. One of the many advantages of Invisalign is the reduced number of visits, where in some cases you need to see your orthodontist once every 3 or 4 months, and that is where a virtual consultation comes in handy.

In today’s world, one must cope to be on the cutting edge of science. Most dentists around the world have followed that protocol, and trying to reach as many patients as they can without having them leave the safety of their homes. We are proud to be on that leading edge. Call us at (916) 786-9282 for our Roseville office, (916) 481-6424 for our Sacramento office, (916) 983-5321 for our Folsom office for a virtual consultation.
